About

A data person who makes films, or a filmmaker who models data.

Both, and the second one only exists because the first one learned to write code. I lead a Power BI team for global pharma by day; at night I build a documentary channel and the tools that run it.

the eyes follow you

By day, I'm a Project Lead at Axtria in Delhi, running a 12-person BI team for six of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies. We have shipped more than a hundred production Power BI dashboards on models past 500 million rows, and I care most about the part nobody sees: a semantic model that refreshes in minutes and opens in seconds, with row-level security that passes an audit.

By night, I run Far Corners, a YouTube channel about the most remote places people call home. There is no editor on the team, so the editor is code: narration, word-level alignment, a build that cuts on the spoken word, QC agents that watch the result, and 4K/8K masters. The same engine now makes finance explainers with motion graphics that assemble on the narrator's words.

The thread between the two is that I like systems that make good work repeatable. A dashboard and a documentary are both pipelines with a quality gate at the end, and I would rather write the gate than trust my eyes.

How I work

  1. 01

    Plan first

Before anything is built there is a written plan with the pages, the numbers and the trade-offs, so the decision happens on paper, not in the code.

  2. 02

    Gates, not promises

Every piece of work gets a checklist with a runnable check per line. Done means every box has evidence, and a box that can't be met is written down, not hidden.

  3. 03

    Measure, don't eyeball

Dashboards are timed with DAX Studio; video cuts are audited for sync drift and loudness; a website is checked for scroll width and first-load bytes. If it can be measured, it is.

    Tools, agents & this website

I describe what I want, AI helps me build it. A Tableau → Power BI converter, a documentary engine, QC agents, and this page.

Three things I believe

Show the work.

A live slicer says more than a paragraph about DAX. A loop says more than a list of tools.

The boring part is the product.

Refresh windows, loudness, scroll width. Nobody praises them; everybody notices when they fail.

Say what got cut.

This site's first navigation was a video-editor timeline. It looked clever and read as clutter, so it went the same day.
